It is my opinion that Democrats have chosen to be the opposing Party, rather than the uniting Party.
How do they change that?
First of all, we need to recognize that not all Republican voters are aware of the damage Trump and his regime are doing to our country and to them personally.
They need to understand that natural disasters hit them just as often, or moreso, than it hits those of the opposing Party. The Trump regime has more or less done away with FEMA and the National weather service, which warns us of incoming disasters and assists in surviving after they happen. They are giving tax breaks to the wealthy at the expense of the poor and needy. They already have it all. How much more do they need?
Perhaps, most importantly, they are taking away the freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution and our Bill or Rights from all Americans. It is not just Democrats that will lose to the Trump regime. It is all of us.
In my opinion, the Democratic Party's message should be directed at all Americans, especially those in the Republican Party. If they are hellbent in jumping off the bridge, they need to know how deep the water is?

(28,225 posts)what is the Magat party?
Maybe the problem with the Democratic party is that they are so inclusive that they don't end up with a unified message?
Who is the leader of the Democratic party? Chuck Schumer wants to let Krasnov burn it all down to win elections.

(113,829 posts)But they are not the majority of Americans.
We only need three or four issues that affect us all and drive it home as the message of Democrats.
Do not get sidetracked with the dozens of other side issues that the "regime" uses to divide us.
Neither Party is perfect but Americans have to decide whether or not "transgender bathrooms" is more important than getting assistance after their home has been destroyed by a tornado or flood? We have to make decisions. Who is really on their side?

(6,679 posts)Honestly, some Trump voters will stay in denial until they are personally affected. Others will stay in denial regardless of being affected.

(113,829 posts)He understands the "divide and conquer" strategy very well. We need a "unite and conquer" strategy, in my opinion. We need to define the issues that affect us all.
It is "us versus them." That wasn't our doing. It was foisted on us. We had no choice. It is time we fight, not to "pull together"

Well, I say to them tonight, there is not a liberal America and a conservative America there is the United States of America. There is not a Black America and a White America and Latino America and Asian America theres the United States of America.
The pundits, the pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into Red States and Blue States; Red States for Republicans, Blue States for Democrats. But Ive got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the Blue States, and we dont like federal agents poking around in our libraries in the Red States. We coach Little League in the Blue States and yes, weve got some gay friends in the Red States. There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq and there are patriots who supported the war in Iraq.

That is pretty inspiring. But what was the response from the other side? Bigotry and cruelty, corruption and lawlessness. They would rather destroy the country than share it.
We reach across the aisle, they cut our arm off. No more.

Oh and 2 of the biggest social media platforms sat at his inauguration.

(50,299 posts)Which brings us to the last point: In this situation, less is more. Democrats dont need to produce a whole budget plan. The counterproposal is not going to become law. They simply need to compel Republicans in swing districts and states to take a vote that raises taxes on the well-to-do and restores health care for the many.

(2,748 posts)The problem is talking to the nation involves relating facts and the truth in post-fact, post truth America.
Relating facts and the truth that require explanation which dont fit neatly into catchy bumper sticker memes unlike the lies and disinformation Republicans propagate.
