Yes, Medicare Cuts are Coming. The Law is already in place to make it happen.

. . .

the cuts are technically automatic unless Congress takes action to stop them. But as of now, they haven’t. So this isn’t fear-mongering—it’s how the law works unless lawmakers intervene. And when you pass a bill knowing this is the outcome? That’s not an accident. That’s a choice.

The OBBB, a comprehensive budget reconciliation package, aims to extend the 2017 Trump-era tax cuts, introduce new tax breaks, and implement extensive spending reductions across various social programs, including Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) . While proponents argue that the bill promotes fiscal responsibility, critics contend that it disproportionately affects vulnerable populations.

One of the most contentious aspects of the bill is its potential impact on Medicare. The CBO warns that, without legislative intervention, the bill's provisions could lead to a 4% annual cut in Medicare spending, affecting payments to hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers . Such reductions could compromise access to care for beneficiaries, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

Moreover, the bill proposes changes that could make it more challenging for low-income individuals to qualify for Medicare and Medicaid, including the elimination of streamlined enrollment processes and the introduction of additional administrative hurdles . These measures risk increasing the number of uninsured Americans and exacerbating health disparities.

not that i have a lot of hope, but i doubt it will pass exactly as is.
it rly is bugging me that stuff is reported as a done deal when it’s not. many of those eo’s will b stopped by the courts. and many things that come out of the house will not get out of the senate unscathed.
