Why Harvard is the "gold standard" to Trump as far as Barron goes.

Trump isn't used to not getting what he wants when he either offers money or threatens another party. He can bring them to heel. And Harvard has denied what he wants: to admit Barron b/c Trump told them to.

Let's face it. There has not been any evidence that Barron has the GPA to be admitted into Harvard on his merit alone.

If admitted without Barron being able to keep up in his classes, Trump's goal would be to have Harvard pass Barron without him earning the degree.

Obviously, Trump would capitalize on Barron's networking with powerful, rich families.

But there's more. Trump would not want Barron to just get a Harvard diploma. He'd insist on the most exclusive university club, The Porcellian, to admit his son. Not only is it the mark of American elitism, but it represents the sons of America's Old Money. Trump would be using his son to attain what has eluded him since he burst on the scene in New York City: acceptance among the Blue Bloods. Like having Mrs. Astor include you in the "400".

Trump's rich, you can't deny that. But he's been dying for decades to be included with American royalty and they have slammed the doors on him each time.

So, it isn't for Barron's benefit; it's for his father's.

And that's why Trump is going after Harvard.

2. So far there's no actual evidence that Harvard rejected Barron, or that he even applied.

Trump has plenty of reasons to hate Harvard anyhow, not the least of which is that Obama went there and was the president of the Law Review.

6. There is legitimate speculation about Trump's obvious personal, pathological hatred of Harvard.

And his clear goal of destroying the world's finest university.

It is personal.

There are only a few obvious reasons which might prove to be the motive.

It is investigative procedure 101.

8. Declaring that Harvard rejected Barron, as the OP did,

When there is zero evidence that he even applied, let alone, was rejected is not investigative procedure 101.

Harvard has denied what he wants: to admit Barron b/c Trump told them to.

Trump can hate Harvard easily enough because it's the flagship Ivy League school, attended by Obama, and conflicts date back to his first term.

Between 2017 and 2020, during Donald Trump's first term, Harvard University frequently clashed with the Trump administration over immigration, civil rights, and academic freedom. It publicly condemned the administration’s travel ban targeting Muslim-majority countries, defended undocumented students by challenging efforts to dismantle DACA, and fought alongside MIT to overturn a policy that threatened the visa status of international students taking online classes.

During this period, Harvard was also the target of a high-profile lawsuit alleging anti-Asian bias in admissions, a case supported by Trump’s Department of Justice. Although Harvard ultimately prevailed in court, the administration’s scrutiny of elite institutions continued, including investigations into alleged unreported foreign funding...

It's an old, ongoing grudge.

But, I'd bet the primary consideration was to stay in Trump Tower in NYC with Melania. Barron and Melania seem to be quite co-dependent--at least from my vantage point.

Still, Stern is ranked No. 6 (tie) out of 133 in Best Business Schools--not an Ivy League School, but quite well thought of. Of course, Trump is so damned superficial and ignorant, it may well be that he's fixated on the "IVY LEAGUE" designation and thus not at all satisfied.
