has been widely lauded as a brilliant move that honors one of their most famous and influential alumni while also bringing some joy and lightness to the event.

Of course, the extreme right like Hannity and Gaines for some reason hates all this. It really is a contest to see how they can hate on something that seems otherwise completely unobjectionable - even joyful. I know the rhetoric of weirdness didn't work for Walz, but this attack on a creative and fun commencement speaker is just plain weird.
