Because most Americans most of the time have something better to do than pay attention to politics, only now is it starting to dawn on many of them that this really is how things are going to be for a while. Until the Democrats take the US House in 2026, this is it.

And they don’t like it. I have seen numerous videos taken at town hall meetings with Democratic congresspeople in which their constituents seem to be in a state of shock and disbelief, as if they truly cannot believe that the president is hacking away at government services, raising the already high cost of living, and generally breaking the law.

“I will not live in an authoritarian country,” one of them said, with her heart on her sleeve. “You can do more. Think outside the box.

“He needs to be impeached!”

To that I say huzzah!

But the problem is the Democrats, as the minority party, can’t do anything. The other problem? People who don’t pay attention to politics, because they have something better to do, don’t know the Democrats can’t do anything. This puts the party in a bind: between being unable to do anything and being accused of doing nothing.

Let Krasnov burn it all down and then win the next elections is a losing strategy.

Saying Democrats can do nothing is what Magats want.

Magats should be holding town halls like MSNBC held having fired federal workers, real people harmed by Krasnov, tell their stories.

Just imagine if Democrats had done this right after SignalGate and NLRB Gate, (anyone still remember those) hold a town hall and have Malcolm Nance monitor it. Bring in security experts, bring in people like general Mattis to testify how Krasnov is a threat to our national security.

The MSM would have been all over a town hall like that. Now, SignalGate and NLRB Gate have been swept under the table and that is the result of Congressional Democrats inaction.

I have plenty of more examples for those types of town halls. Have one about the gutting of the social safety net and let Matin O'Malley moderate it.

Maybe what Hogge is doing was the right course of action?

Donald Trump is seeing a surprising uptick in support from Democratic voters, according to a new poll.

The latest Quantus Insights poll, conducted between May 18-20, shows that Trump is up 4 points among Democrats, with 11 percent approving of his job performance, up from 7 percent in an April poll. His disapproval rating also dropped from 91 to 87 percent.

The poll also showed that Trump's approval rating has received a 5-point boost from Black voters, with 27 percent approving of his job performance, up from 22 percent. His disapproval among this demographic dropped by 2 points to 64 percent. Among every other demographic polled, Trump's approval rating did not change significantly.

Both polls had a margin of error of ± 3.1 percentage points.
