Here's how much a 'Made in the USA' iPhone would cost

Defending its “reciprocal tariffs,” the White House said President Donald Trump believes the U.S. has the workforce and the resources to build iPhones in the U.S.

Analysts who follow the company say a U.S.-made iPhone is impossible at worst and highly expensive at best.

One analyst estimates that on labor costs alone, an iPhone made in the U.S. could cost 25% more than it does now.

Another analyst pegged the price of a U.S.-made iPhone at $3,500.

Especially among gen z that has to have the best of everything, it may not matter.

Selling fewer units at higher prices and increased profit isn't considered a negative to corporate america.

Data shows those apps are exploding, and you can use them for everything from clothes to burritos.

Imagine that, buying taco's on an installment plan.

These apps are credit traps. Miss a payment, and you are smacked with huge fees and up to 36% interest.

Users are largely under 30. And many are maxed out on multiple apps.

Cold hard data, not a small group of friends.

It seems that fucking imbecile believes they can just slap up a factory overnight. Never mind that most of the work will be done by robots. It sickens me that nobody is calling him out on any of this.

A US-made iPhone would be built using robots. There would be one to put the parts on the circuit board and set the boards on a wave soldering machine conveyor, another to pick the soldered boards off the conveyor, one to put the phones together, one to package the phones, one to put the packages in shipping cartons, one to palletize the cartons, one to load the pallets on trailers, and one to bring the parts to the first station and one to handle the trailers. A 24/7 phone making factory could run with no more than six human workers - four to run shifts on the production floor, a logistics clerk and a supervisor.

This would make the phones a little more expensive than Asian-made ones but not by much.
