More desperate people

In our communities is the result of this horrendous bill and the human remains they call the president. People who have nowhere to live are increasing. The streets are already the first choice for mental health patients. Belligerent drug addicts are a already a consideration when shopping in certain areas. More families are already living in their cars in the Walmart parking lot. Some are already prepared with their weapon caches. Emergency rooms will be overwhelmed as they are the only access to medical care.

This is not meant to be doom and gloom, but a reminder that the lives of everyone will be impacted beyond losing our access to medical care.

Here in Denver already, our two not for profit hospitals, state owned UC Health and Denver owned Denver Health are already suffering from people who can't pay......

I think Denver just passed a penny? more sales tax that will go to Denver Health to help try to make it so at least they will break even.....

Unfortunately we are headed deeper into the abyss. Because of my personal situation ( I can't elaborate on) I hold my tongue on many issues when in public but I didn't use to be this way. But one thing I continue to do is SHUN people I know to be republicans. I don't care if they are family, friends, neighbors, or who/whomever. I just cannot associate with someone who thinks my life is a sin because I am gay or my marriage is not real for the same reason. These very people will find a way to harm you if you don't let them use you to their advantage. Race, Income, Health, Identity, and more, are all doomed if the leaders we elect do not take a more forceful role in protecting us as they promised they would.

My opinion is just that, MINE. I want to see all these old people in politics replaced by young progressives. Give me the Crockets, the Porters, the Jefferies. I don't want word salad and "lets be civil" and empty promises anymore. Someone has to stop this insanity. "Good Trouble" is more than just getting in front of a camera or making a tiktok reel saying "I'm doing this and that. I've done this and that" They need to actually DO THE WORK "or get off the pot"!

Sorry for the long rant.....I've had another really bad day and Your words, rightfully so, brought out my frustrations because I can feel yours too!

This is what we need! We all have to use our voices now.

Your situation in particular is infuriating. So much progress has been made but these ghouls want to reverse it.

You are so right about young progressives need to take over. We need the energy and people with a grasp of reality - not strongly worded letters.
