Jasmine Crockett Names The Telling Reason Trump 'Hired Everybody From Fox News'

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) on Tuesday called out President Donald Trump’s administration for performatively using United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents for arrests in his second term.

“Frankly, it is sad that we do have to go through this kind of political theater because, listen, we all know what it is — that’s why they hired everybody from Fox News because all they’re trying to do is put on for a show. This is not ‘The Apprentice’ show,” she told a GOP-led House judiciary subcommittee hearing.

“This is supposed to be about the American people, and I want us to start to refocus our attention on the American people and stop demonizing every doggone person that ends up in custody of ICE because they are not necessarily demons just because ICE decided to round them up.”

Crockett’s remarks bounced off those from Jason Houser, former ICE chief of staff under Joe Biden who was the Democrats’ witness at a hearing titled “Examining Threats to ICE Operations.”

2. Crediting Crockett as "articulate" is considered insulting . . .

. . . and racist because it presumes that Black persons are inherently NOT articulate. But I laud Crockett as being articulate for a politician. She, along with Porter, Sanders and AOC, combines two key styles of communication that I learned about in college.

"Father Speak" was the scholarly, formal, often jargon-laden way of speaking and writing that was required at the university level to show that you were educated and sophisticated enough to belong there. "Mother Speak" was plain-spoken and unpretentious, and most importantly, focused on getting good information out there rather than impressing people with oratory style.

Crockett cuts to the heart of the message with simplicity, but clearly demonstrates higher order thinking than just, "Immigrants bad; guns and beer good." Yes, she is a young woman who enjoys having a little style. But compare her to Kristi Noem who puts effort into her visual style, but lacks a heart or soul.

What makes Jasmine Crockett articulate isn't just how she speaks, but the fact that she speaks thoughts and ideas and not buzzwords and sound bites. She speaks from the heart and the mind, because she actually has both of those things. Far too many politicians lack either of those things. They have egos and ids pushing them to serve their own interests; their constituents are mere resources for them to get what they want.

Thank goodness for Ms. Crockett, who is a resource for those whom she serves.
