https://thehill.com/homenews/nexstar_media_wire/5307891-nearly-80-more-big-lots-stores-to-reopen-in-june-heres-where/(NEXSTAR) Its been five months since Big Lots announced it was preparing to close all of its stores, after closing hundreds of others following its bankruptcy filing. Since then, more than 100 Big Lots stores have reopened under new management.
Next month, nearly 80 more Big Lots stores will open, Variety Wholesalers confirmed to Nexstar on Monday. (The company acquired hundreds of Big Lots stores, which are retaining their original branding as part of a deal reached by Gordon Brothers Retail Partners.)
This comes after nine stores reopened in April, and two reopening waves in May, totaling dozens of stores each. The fourth wave of store reopenings, scheduled for Thursday, June 4, will expand Big Lots footprint in nine states:

Sadly, not our local store, and none near enough to be worth the bother.

I liked Big Lots, they had some really good stuff at really good prices. I once bought five gallons of cheap paint ($3 a gallon) and painted my mobile home. It lasted for seven years or so before it started fading away. I couldn't afford anything else, including primer. I got a couple of roller handles and a pack of covers, and my sons and I got it done in a day. We didn't have Dollar Tree back then, and rollers/covers were crazy at Lowe's (none at the Walmart we had). So, for $20 bucks and some labor, I made the house look so nice.
