Just a thought regarding Joe Biden's diagnosis.

There will be some who see his illness as proof of "God's Disfavor". They will chalk up Trump's relatively good health as a blessing upon one doing" God's Work".

Years ago, I was on the periphery of a religious community who saw illness, accidents and misfortunes from three different perspectives.

If the person was a non-believer by their standards, then God was punishing them but giving them a chance to "Turn to Him".

If the person was a believer by their standards but had "fallen away", (again by their standards,) then God was "Trying to get their attention" and offer them a chance to "Get back on the right path" and if the misfortune didn't do the trick, then Jesus would "Call them home" before they could fall further away or possibly prove to be a stumbling block to others.

If the person suffering from an illness or other serious problem was a believer in full standing with their group, and therefore innocent in their eyes, then God was "Trying them" to prove their strength and His Glory and if they died, well, then, God blessed them by "Calling them home" and relieving their suffering.

I know that not everyone who identifies a Christian sees these matters in this exact same way, so if Christianity is first and last for you a call to mercy, then I don't mean to offend.

Mercy, empathy, forgiveness and redemption are not confined to any one religious label in my eyes. I just wish those ideals weren't so narrowly defined and apportioned in some people's thinking.

Or perhaps if one was regularly screened properly, instead of using the USPSF recommendations, then JohnSJ May 18 #1

Sorry but he doesn't impress me as a healthy guy.

Joe's older and prostate cancer affects a lot of men that age.
