Patrick Scruggs once worked as a Assistant U.S. Attorney. On September 26-th, 2023, he was driving on the Howard Frankland Bridge and saw a car stopped in the middle of the bridge in a traffic lane.
Another driver saw the same stopped vehicle and got out of his car to investigate.
That driver, Ahmad Gahaf said he went to the stopped car and saw a man passed out in the vehicle. Gahaf said he tried knocking on the window, but the driver did not wake up.
Patrick Scruggs came up to the scene, and the driver who was passed out, came to and attempted to leave, hitting Scruggs car.
The former prosecutor got out of his car and used the end of a knife to knock out the drivers window. When he did, the startled driver attempted to leave again, but his car was wedged between Scruggs car and Gahafs car. Scruggs then used the knife to repeatedly stab the driver.

Scruggs' actions didn't stop with the stabbing. Witness Ahmad Gahaf says that when he tried to intervene, Scruggs then turned the knife on him.
'He almost stabbed me too,' Gahaf told reporters.

It looks more like a bullying asshole with a bad case of homicidal road rage.
I dont know what the max penalty is for assault with a deadly weapon in Florida but Struggs deserves every day of it. I wonder what his excuse was for trying to assault Ahmad Gahaf. Gahaf had attempted to help Matt Sharp, the driver of the car which struck Patrick Struggss vehicle.

(7,854 posts)If someone had attacked him through his own car window and he defended himself that's "stand your ground".
You don't stand your ground by breaking into someone else's car and stabbing them.

(4,101 posts)He claims he had just dropped off his children at daycare and was on his way to the office. The time of day when he stabbed the motorist was about 9:23 AM.
As a Central Florida Assistant U S. Attorney, he assisted in procuring indictments of Florida residents who participated in the J6 insurrection.
