Seems like Jim Comey is about to "find out".
I am glad he has time to arrange seashell messages in the sand. While he's at it. I'd appreciate he "spell out" these "messages in the sand".
- "I'm sorry I single-handedly brought this nightmare on America"
- "I'm sorry I destroyed 240 years of American Democracy".
- "I'm sorry I didn't have the balls, guts, backbone, courage, spine, honor, integrity, fortitude or strength to stand up to rogue prosecutors and FBI agents in the Southern District of New York"
- "I'm sorry I cut the Clinton Campaign off at the knees 5 days before the election".
- "I'm sorry I was so concerned about the integrity of the FBI that I turned it over to a fucking fraudulent, fuckstick, serial rapist."
- "I'm sorry for the thousands, or hell, probably millions of women that will bleed out on the table, die from sepsis and be forced to stay in abusive relationships because of my cowardice".
- "I'm sorry I've enabled the prospect of supreme court sanctioned political assassinations and CONCENTRATION CAMPS to become normal issues in presidential campaigns".
Short of these, AND MORE APOLOGIES, I give not one-fuck about what Jim Comey has to say about ANYTHING!
I don't want his opinion on American Democracy.
I don't want his opinion on justice and law.
I don't want to hear about his fucking faith.
I don't want his opinion on politics, the rule of law, court cases, the FBI, DOJ, or MOST OF ALL, honor, courage and integrity.
If he wants to now rejoin the ranks of civil society, fuck him to hell and back.
If he strips naked, rolls in ashes, puts on sackclothe and sets himself on fire, I might glance in his direction, but short of that, he can just shut the fuck up!

(98,773 posts)took it upon himself to send a letter to the republicans in Congress, saying they were looking at possible additional information on a laptop in regard Hillary's emails.
He then went into hiding, while our illustrious media then falsely said that the "email investigation was reopened". THAT WAS A LIE.
The same illustrious media then paraded every right wing pundit across their outlets propagating that lie for the next 11 days, 24/7, until LATE Friday, the weekend before the general election, Comey came out of his CAVE, and said there was no new information on that laptop that would justify reopening the investigation.
Of course that was hardly mentioned as a byline by the illustrious press, and the damage had already been done.
Anything bad that happens to comey is well deserved as far as I am concerned.

I don't care what anybody thinks of Comey or how he fucked up; sending the FBI after him for a harmless wisecrack is dangerous bullshit. Yes, there's certainly some karma involved, and we can all get a sad laugh out of that, but this kind of harassment could be and probably will be directed at anybody who opposes or ever did oppose Dear Leader. Including us. If I still had a current law license I'd be volunteering with the ACLU or whoever to defend him tooth and nail. This is downright Stalinist and it will get worse if people don't speak out, now, loudly, instead of just snorting derisively about how he "deserves" it. He doesn't.

(27,839 posts)But he's publishing a book. No such thing as bad publicity.
He brought this on himself.
He's a rich republican, even if they bring charges, which will never happen, he'll skate, just like trump.
Now, if he disappears, that will be a different story.

(163,722 posts)Its possible that Republicans are sincerely outraged by the former FBI director's seashell code, but recent history suggests some skepticism is in order.

His "8647" seashells on Instagram simply gave Team Trump an excuse to do it wanted to do anyway.

The Department of Homeland Security and Secret Service are investigating a social media post by former FBI Director James Comey that several U.S. officials interpreted as calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Thursday.
Evidently, Comey shared a photo on Instagram showing seashells arranged to form the numbers 8647. Republican officials soon after responded with apoplexy, at which point the former FBI director himself a lifelong Republican deleted the post and said, I didnt realize some folks associate it with violence. That didnt occur to me when I saw it but I am opposed to violence in all circumstances so I took it down.
Comey added soon after that he simply assumed that the numbers were a political message.....
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard appeared on Fox News and said she wants to see Comey put behind bars for this. A variety of GOP lawmakers, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, scrambled to toe the party line and condemn the former FBI director.
Trump himself ultimately joined the parade, in predictably Trumpian fashion.

......When the president first arrived in the White House eight years ago, he saw Comey as an ally Trump appeared to literally blow a kiss at the then-FBI director at a White House event in January 2017 thanks in part to Comeys role in undermining Hillary Clintons 2016 candidacy. In time, however, Trump soured on Comey, and ultimately fired him in the hopes of derailing the FBIs investigation into the presidents Russia scandal.
In the years that followed, Trump continued to target the former FBI director, accusing Comey of treason, and even calling for his prosecution over unidentified crimes.
As recently as a few months ago, just days after Trump loyalist Kash Patel was sworn in as the FBIs newest director, the conservative Washington Times reported that the bureau had opened an investigation into Comeys role in the FBIs investigation into Trumps 2016 campaign.
In other words, Team Trump has long seen Comey as a villain who should be targeted and investigated. His since-deleted Instagram post appears to have given the presidents operation an excuse to do what it wanted to do anyway.
Comey is an idiot. Comey's press conference on the Clinton email investigation was unethical and got trump elected. Comey's stupidity may be a valid defense if charges are brought.

(2,637 posts)to get real about characters like Comey. This goes for all of those engaged in silly crap like this.
They do nothing but damage to the party with these shenanigans, and we need to distance ourselves from anyone who pulls stunts like this. If we are going to ever recover from the debt we have taken on since last Nov, we need to take notes regarding the response to this sort of crap. From this day forward, Comey (and anyone like him) shouldn't be able to get a voice anywhere but Fox news. All others need to erase their names from history and move on to those who are actually helpful to the cause.

(113,860 posts)Does anyone really know? Hillary believes he did.
Where did he cost her votes?
Did some people simply not vote when they heard that Comey had opened another FBI investigation on Hillary just days before the election? Is that just an assumption? Do we have proof?
I think what Jim Comey most regrets is that he let the House Republicans, on a couple of Committees, lead him around by the ear?
