Two states have now passed fluoride bans. These other ones introduced bills.

Following a push by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and another Republican-led state, Florida this week banned the long-standing practice of adding fluoride to public water systems.

In a measure opposed by dentists and medical organizations but praised by Kennedy, the secretary of U.S. Health and Human Services, and others questioning it's safety, Utah became the first state to ban fluoride earlier this year.

Several other states have introduced bills that would curb the use of fluoride in water. They include:

Louisiana

Massachusetts

Nebraska

South Carolina

Lawmakers in other states including North Dakota, Arkansas, Tennessee, Montana and New Hampshire saw anti-fluoride legislation effort but the bill either failed or was tabled and missed deadline for the year.

6. Fluoride in water is banned in most of Europe

Many European countries have rejected water fluoridation, including: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland,[68] Scotland,[69] Iceland, and Italy.[70] A 2003 survey of over 500 Europeans from 16 countries concluded that "the vast majority of people opposed water fluoridation".

I know Denmark and Belgium do.

to help reduce cavities. But I do not see the need to drink fluoride.

Will actually reduce small cavities. Fluoride will not. It is purely preventative. Most of Asia and Europe use hydroxyapatite toothpaste. It is superior but more expensive- like double.

11. It's not banned in any European countries

Some simply choose not to fluoridate their tap water. Many of those add flouride to salt like we do with iodine. Some add flouride to milk.

Not all water utilities in the U.S add flouride either, the last two I have been on do not. Many people in my area of the state have their own water wells also. Here in Florida at least flouride is a naturally occurring element from the aquifer anyway, so it’s in most tap water whether they add more or not.

13. Banned or not using is just symantics

Personally, I buy professional grade fluoride toothpaste from Dentist office.
Because I believe it helps reduce cavities. But I see no need to drink the chemical.

The Times article details what happened in Calgary after fluoride was removed: “multiple studies” showed that caries and caries treatments increased in children in the subsequent years. The number of children receiving IV antibiotics for dental infections at Alberta Children’s Hospital increased by 700% from 2011 to 2018. The majority of these patients were under five years old.

In a 2021 referendum, Calgary voters elected to put fluoride back in the water, and completion is due early next year.

One dentist interviewed by The Times observed “a rise in decalcification along the gum line,” rather than the usual decay on biting surfaces of teeth that is associated with a caries-producing diet. Other studies noted that more children required general anesthesia for their dental procedures during this time.

Of course, poor people can't afford general anaesthesia or IV antibiotics. Calgary (because it is in Canada) has free healthcare for all funded by taxes.

RFnKjr and Florida (ironic name) are basing their bans on a study that showed some problems with Fluoride but their results were poor because they were confounded by local conditions that are not applicable in the US.
