She seems to understand life from a practical perspective. She seems to get along with the other Lady Justices. my 2 cents

3. Ideology aside, she's a good judge.

She’s smart and while legally conservative, doesn’t seem to be an ideologue or partisan, and seemingly tries to be fair. That’s the most one can hope for when a Justice is appointed by a Republican President.

Thank you so much for this post.

I was just speaking with my Sis and we both feel there's hope for her. My thought is that she would want to enforce/abide by the rule of law.

I'm a spiritual person (not religious) and I pray and meditate for both her and Roberts.

doesn't appreciate or like males telling her how to interpret law. I often got the right answer in class, only to hear male catcalls in derision. I stood up to patronizing male law professors -- and still graduated.

But she does at least show a bit of independence.

justice under the law, as Ruth Bader Ginsburg said she thought was a stronger basis?

To me, the right to have autonomy over one's body is of paramount importance. I don't like that argument and I don't like the compromises that go along with it.

13. Maybe more like Sandra Day O'Connor

Except O'Connor was prochoice. Her opinion in Casey did open the door for a lot of the bullshit laws that came after, like a 3 day waiting period, ultrasound requirements, etc. But she didn't overturn Roe.

On other issues she was as bad as Fat Tony. And she was part of the 5 justices that stopped the vote count in Florida.

I would say Barrett will occasionally side with the liberal justices. But expecting anything from her is fool's gold.

ACB does not want to be known as a "Trump judge." I think she's disgusted with him and will separate more over time.

18. She's an interesting justice

I listen to SC oral arguments a lot because they're usually pretty interesting. Barrett really impressed me in Haaland v. Brackeen, the case that upheld the Indian Child Welfare Act which is meant to protect children's Native American tribal attachments in custody cases.

She really picked apart the attorneys during oral arguments in a thorough and nuanced way.

Not saying she's the most amazing justice ever - still conservative - but she's not a slouch.
