The Silver Lining in Trump's Tariffs

The Silver Lining in Trump’s Tariffs

"SNIP..........

That’s the danger: when populist strongmen ride a wave of popularity, they can bend institutions, rewrite rules, and consolidate power with frightening ease.

But Trump’s popularity is already waning quickly. If the country is pushed into recession, it will only get worse.

And as Trump’s approval numbers slip, so does his leverage. His allies will start hedging. His enemies will stop fearing. The aura of his invincibility will fade.

Trump’s flexing of power by unilaterally starting a global trade war, paradoxically, may also be what saves us from a full authoritarian takeover.

........SNIP"

I remember when the Republicans legislators went over to the White House and told Nixon he was a crook and he had to resign. When are the current Republicans going to go to the White House and tell Trump he’s a moron and needs to resign?

To hope, because of outrage by constituents, just a few Congress GQP, realize the threat of primaries funded by Musk may be meaningless and take a stand against the take over by Putin’s puppets.
Seems Senate is about to take Tariff stand, but it will go nowhere with Moses Mike having all his ass kissing power. Nothing will see the floor for a vote.
Maybe enough congress members feeling the pressure, will vote to rid the country of spineless Mike’s ego, vote him out and install a moderate that would like to save our nation and do what their base is now demanding.
Do they still have the power to remove him like they did Gaetz?

Probably removed it to protect the biggest Trump puppet ever in full control.
Old enough to remember hating Paul. Never wanted to run a fist through his mug though.

We just thought he was bad. Now he seems like a great guy. Ayan Rand worship and all.
