I hope and pray everyone will be okay as the weeks go by... food is already through the roof

Hubby went to the local Fareway... and prices are already up.. Instant rice was 5.50 .. a pound bag of dry pinto beans was 1.99.. eggs are 7.00 a dozen.. eggs were pricey before the election because of bird flu.. but since Trump got elected and his bellowing about tariffs, other foods are taking off.

I know Trump and his billionaire buddies do not understand the word groceries.. or how regular people have to cut coupons and watch their wallets.. but these prices they are going to let fly is going to hurt people..

The latest from Iowa.. have we started winning yet???

Instant rice way outside its value. Paying for convenience. Instead I soak rice for 24 hours, or 2 days if brown rice, then it's softer and cooking time is reduced. Same with beans, but I've never successfully cooked beans.

Yes Trump eggs are 55 cents each. I eat fewer, and cook with one small egg if 2 are required. Add a little flax meal, applesauce, oat bran to substitute for the missing egg. Brownies from scratch with whole wheat and unbleached flour has fewer carbs, and I can control the amount of sugar to a minimum.

Change the way I do things, using the opportunity to improve what i can control.

Now it's really showing up there! Dozen eggs = $12!!!! I'm in Tahoe, so they definitely gouge us here due to thye trucks having to come over the mountains... my mom always used to say we saw the gas prices for the trucks in our food up here.
Add to this cutting off the food banks etc...people are gonna get hungry...and hungry people do very irrational things. Like storming the Bastille...
