a Bluesky link. The link did not and could not have taken them to the nonexistent discussion they said it went to.

the editor-in-chief of Meidas News, who posted a screenshot of Trump's message. Please stop trying to discourage people from clicking on the link. No one needs to be on Bluesky to read that post.

rid of malware that would be the ONLY way a Bluesky link would take you elsewhere. I just searched for any threads or replies you posted in all forums here, back through January 3rd, and you never mentioned any problem with Bluesky links till now, and you have responded to other OPs that included Bluesky links.

I suggest you post about this problem in Community Help and bring it to EarlG's attention, if this is really happening (not only have you never mentioned it before, but a quick googling didn't turn up anyone else anywhere complaining about a similar problem with Bluesky links). Be sure to provide EarlG with the link to that Hooters discussion you claim Bluesky links take you to, but point out it might be malware - and break that link with a space so it won't appear on DU as a link that can be accidentally clicked on.

Otherwise, it unfortunately looks like you're trying to disrupt this thread and waste people's time getting them to copy from Bluesky when Bluesky links are safe to click on. And it's really not nice of you to try to scare people away from clicking on Bluesky links. So if those links really are redirecting you, post in Community Help. And again, be sure to include the mysterious link you say you're taken to "every time" you click on a Bluesky link. I'd like to see which site that is, too. But EarlG knows more about computers and I'm sure he'd want to know if Bluesky links on DU redirect to other sites.

My point in commenting was that it is lazy on the part of posters to just post a link with no explanation. That goes for bluesky, X Twitter or YouTube or even newspaper links.

doubt that any Bluesky link posted here ever took you to the Hooters discussion you just claimed Bluesky links take you to "every time."

If you don't want to click on Bluesky links, that's your choice. If you think you have a right to demand that others tell you everything at a link so you don't have to click on it, that's also your choice, but it's rude and demanding when it would take you only seconds to click a perfectly safe link.

Your claim that every time you click a Bluesky link you're taken to the Hooters discussion you described was simply a lie, and not in any way an amusing one.

I'm sorry you tricked another DUer into spending much more time copying all-caps text from a screenshot for you than it would have taken you to look at it yourself. Your first post giving a made-up reason why you can't click on Bluesky links also took much, much more time than clicking on the link would have. But you got someone to jump through a hoop for you.
