1. Why anyone shops at Walmart is beyond me.

Yes, thirty plus years ago almost everything they sold was made here. But that changed in the 90s.

lowest prices. Again, a long time ago when they sold Made In America that was true. It no longer is. Do some comparison shopping. The last three times someone dragged me to a Walmart I made them price compare what they wanted with the price at the local Albertson's. Surprise, surprise. The most expensive supermarket in town was cheaper than Walmart.

7. Not where I live. No way is Albertson's competitive with Walmart, and I shop at both on a weekly basis.

Albertsons has more brand variety, so I buy some items there that Walmart doesn't carry, but I always expect to pay more.

My son works at Walmart and we're glad for the job. It pays well and he's treated well. I worked at a Walmart many years ago, when most stuff they sold was made in America, and Mr. Sam was alive. Other than the family being more of a shit Republican group, nothing really changed.

And this is going to shock a lot of you, but Walmart isn't any worse than Target, or Macy's or whatever store you think is "better". They all sell the same shit, for higher prices than Walmart, and they don't treat their workers any better, or their customers any differently. I'm treated nicer at Walmart than I've ever been at Target.

This whole attitude about people who work or shop at Walmart is just another sign of the elitism of this site. Poor people aren't really welcome in your little group, and those who say Democrats have lost sight of the working people? It's all true. Keep treating us like shit on your shoe, and keep being surprised when we stop voting for you. The Republicans may lie, but they at least say the right things, rather than getting all ivory tower talk.

The worst run co. you could imagine where harassment was part of everyday life and management laughed about it. I fucking hate Walmart heirs, they ruined the co. There used to be a great profit sharing plan, reason to work there. But Heirs ended it a year before my husband was eligible. The payouts went from around $17,000 after 5 years to $175 after 5 years. Hubs and lots of the staff quit when this happened. All the good peope left.

I had only ever been to 2 walmarts before 2005: A former Hypermart USA (way too big), and an old very small Discount City in Arkansas.
We always went to ALCO, bEST, Service Merchandise, Kmart, Roses, or Hills (where the toys are).
I hope Roses returns here after buying Big Lots.
