Normally it is there at 12.01am on the 3rd of the month. Anyone else having this problem?

(13,542 posts)is at least several days earlier than the 3rd you are talking about.
Maybe you need to talk to the bank? Mine is usually pretty accommodating - and knowledgeable.

(58,231 posts)My March Social Security Disability (not SSI) is full permanent Disability with no reviews. Came on the 3rd of the month.
This is why I'm confused.

(13,338 posts)program altogether, although the checks are handled by the SSA. As far as I can tell after getting SS checks for 17 years, theres been no change. You are holding your bank to a very stringent standard: 12:01 A.M.?

(58,231 posts)I guess I just got used to it always being there at that time.
In these times, yes it scared me.

(82 posts)I always used to get my deposit on the third of the month, but around May of 2023, that changed. It began bouncing around between the last day of the previous month to the 2nd. This year, it started coming on the 1st of the month if it fell on a weekday, or the Friday before if the 1st fell on the weekend. And then this month, it came in on the 2nd. Makes no sense to me.
William769
(58,231 posts)Yes it is confusing. & with tweedle dee & tweedle dum trying to make changes, scares the hell out of me.
I was pretty safe with savings, then I lost my house during hurricane Ian which had more principal than loan. So I ended up buying a new home with most of my savings. And now I am have to live month to month and It's scary as hell.
Trying to live the American dream anymore, seems to be unattainable.

(82 posts)I'm so grateful I've never been in a major disaster. When I was living in the States, I had two fires come way too close (in one of those instances being stopped one house away), and one tornado passed by but made a decent miss. I've wondered at various times how I would handle a loss that huge. You can't know unless it happens. And the older you get, the harder it gets. Natural disasters are simply going to happen. Nothing we can do about them. But what Putin, Trump, Musk and their minions are putting everyone through is jaw-droppingly horrendous.

(23,872 posts)Actually, for me it's usually earlier than what the SSA site says that it comes on the 3rd of the month. In fact, in looking back to November, I had my November check deposited on the 1st and my December check deposited on November 29th--2 checks in one month.

(61,653 posts)Is that maybe based on the SS birthday? As in the day you signed up for the service?

(58,231 posts)I'm sorry this is just cruel & unusual punishment. I will be asking my bank why it posted so late.
Thanks all.

(58,231 posts)To make matters worse, I just got out of the hospital with Congestive Heart Failure & this little episode just added to my stress when I didn't need it.
But I'm a survivor, this too shall pass.

Cynical yes.
IMO, yes.

(23,872 posts)Unexpectedly early. My thought is that if SS checks are not arriving do to Musk and DOGE actions that we would be reading of hundreds here posting how they have not gotten their checks. Yes, I received my SS money on Monday so that means I could immediately start worrying if I were to get my May check or not. So I understand your anxiety and can't really tell you not to worry about your check because I do it all the time now since it's all I have to pay my rent and bills.
William769
(58,231 posts)We'll just have to worry month to month with each other.
said mine was pending Monday-Wednesday and posted today. Sometimes I wonder if it depends on the bank?

I paid for that disability in more ways than one.

(1,240 posts)I don't know why since I don't seem to fall into any of the categories that get it on the 3rd.
Mine was deposited to my account on time this morning. My bank notified me, but, of course, they probably still have it in processing.

(184 posts)Didn't want to at first but I was injured badly & the medical expenses wiped me out.
I didn't want to start collecting at 62 but the doctors weren't sure I'd be able to resume my old profession. I didn't want to try for disability & was just turning 62 so I started then.
Few hiccups but it's been more or less smooth. Mine was on time.
