Jim Banks Tells Fired HHS Worker He 'Deserved It', Calls Him a 'Clown'

MAGA Senator Jim Banks of Indiana told a fired HHS worker that he "deserved it" and then called him a "clown" in a clip posted on social media Tuesday. In the footage from Mack Schroeder, Banks is approached by a man in a Senate basement corridor, who tells him he used to work for the Department of Health and Human Services, but was illegally fired by DOGE in February.

The man asks Banks what he is going to do about the fact that people on disabilities aren't going to receive services as a result of Musk's layoffs at DHS, to which Banks responds, "you probably deserved it," as he enters an elevator protected by a posse of staffers.

"Why did I deserve it?" the fired worker asks, to which Banks replies, "because you seem like a clown," right as the elevator doors close.

Banks' callous response shows the level of cruelty abundant in the MAGA Republican Party. Banks could have chosen not to respond, but instead chose to mock an American citizen who has lost his livelihood because of Elon Musk's moves to gut the federal government, showing once again the disdain that Donald Trump and his party have for working Americans.

On and on. We should hang it around each of their necks. They want to be callous? Let them own every bit of hurt. Make sure everyone knows republicans own it.
