Longtime Republican pollster Frank Luntz was so impressed by the record-breaking speech by Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) this week that he thinks the Democratic Party may have a new leader in its midst.
I want to emphasize what Cory Booker did over the last 24 hours may have changed the course of political history, he told NewsNations Leland Vittert.
Booker spoke for a record 25 hours and 4 minutes as he railed against President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, generating viral moments on social media.
What I saw over the last 25 hours absolutely blew me away, Luntz admitted, then made a big prediction. That speech puts Cory Booker as one of the leaders for the Democratic Party for 2028.

(545 posts)Hes thoughtful, likeable, and comes across as genuine. Weve needed someone like him at the forefront for too long.

Booker would be good. I want someone who can be loud and bold.

(1,946 posts)He was terrible on education when he was mayor of Newark. He was another Arne Duncan. Another privatizer/charter school advocate. Nope. Never.
I don't want him as Senate leader, and I certainly don't want him as a presidential candidate.
I don't forget and won't forgive.

Of course you should remember.
Forgiveness is another matter entirely.

(23,873 posts)I am not convinced now that we will have free & fair elections in '26 with Trump & Musk alienating so many millions of Republicans right now with their actions, especially regarding Social Security.
As what just happened here in Wisconsin with our state Supreme Court race we will need a massive turnout by Democrats and the Left--no excuses.

(1,653 posts)Have an election right now, and Booker won't have one that matters until atleast '28.
20 Republicans aren't going to vote to convict an impeachment.....so I'm not sure what else you expect.
There will be elections.

(23,873 posts)We may have elections in name, but will they be free and fair and actually decide anything? You can't guarantee that.

(27,696 posts)candidate. The pseudo-revolution populists will start up, of course they will, with their anti-establishment purity tests.
Bashing Booker for Big Pharma was a big one here, because of New Jersey, same as Hillary was accused of being corrupted because of New York and Wall Street. Campaign contributions from workers in those industries is magically corrupting.

(14 posts)Next thing ya know Luntz the pollster will be claiming water's wet and fire's hot. Too bad he doesn't seem to have figured out that MAGA is a cult and the present regime is being run by Putin puppets. When he comes to those conclusions, I'll be duly impressed.
