After clemency from Trump, man goes on crime spree: Latest arrest involves toddler

By Matt Arco | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com

It appears a man whose prison sentence President Donald Trump commuted at the end of his first term can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

Jonathan Braun, who had a 10-year prison sentence for dealing thousands of kilograms of marijuana, reportedly was arrested for allegedly punching a man in the face and shoving the man’s three-year-old child to the ground, according to Mediaite.

From the report: “... Braun’s family used a connection to Charles Kushner – whose son Jared Kushner served as a White House adviser in Trump’s first term – to secure the commutation. Charles Kushner, who was convicted of tax evasion and witness tampering, received a pardon from Trump in December 2020. Trump has nominated the elder Kushner to be U.S. ambassador to France.

It was the fourth time he has been arrested since Trump freed him.
